Alltesta

Common Q&A for Alltesta Analyzer:

How much time is needed for sample preparation?

How much time does it take to generate the results?

What is the analyzer sensitivity (i.e. what is the minimum  concentration that the analyzer can identify?)

What other chemicals can the analyzer identify?

What do you mean by “200 samples with a single set of supplies”?

Do you have a distributor in our country?

Is tax included in the price of the analyzer?

Warranty & Post-sales services?

Is this an FDA approved method?

What about sample matrix interference like the other HPLC methods?

Is this a qualitative test or can it be quantitative?

Can I use my HPLC system with your guard column and column for analysis?

What is the gross weight and estimated freight charge for one unit to be shipped to (China, Hong-Kong, Vietnam, etc)?

What kind of software is required to operate this analyzer?

How does one operate Alltesta Analyzer without the time-consuming sample preparation for  analysis?

How much time is needed for sample preparation?
Our approach does not require sample preparation for liquid samples. For solid samples extraction, a dissolution step will be needed.

How much time does it take to generate the results?
On average, results for a single analysis are generated within 15 minutes.

What is the analyzer sensitivity (i.e. what is the minimum  concentration that the analyzer can identify?)
The analyzer is capable of distinguishing 1 ppm, specified for melamine in liquid samples.

What other chemicals can the analyzer identify?
We are building a library of chemicals that can be analysed. For each chemical a specific configuration is reqyured. This configuration and set of supplies is developed for each chemical analysis. Some analysis examples are caffeine, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin E.

What do you mean by “200 samples with a single set of supplies”?
Each supply pack contain all the components you would need to conduct 200 trials:  vials, trap column, separation column, solution for analysis of melamine and calibration standard.

Do you have a distributor in our country?
If not, will you provide shipping? We sell our products directly and through distributors. We can cooperate with other parties in distributing Alltesta Analyzer for Melamine in your region. We can ship to any country in the world using DHL, UPS, FedEx or other provider specified by our customers.

Is tax included in the price of the analyzer?
Taxes are not included for foreign shipments. All taxes and custom duties are responsibility of the customer. We will supply all necessary paperwork for Foreign Customs. Only customers in Illinois are charged sales tax.

Warranty & Post-sales services?
Warranty expires 1 year after the date of purchase. We provide lifetime email and phone support for the Analyzer. Additional “Supply Boxes” are available for purchase at any time. 9. What is the gross weight and estimated freight charge for one unit to be shipped to (China, Hong-Kong, Vietnam, etc)? Gross Weight is 22 pounds. Shipping ranges from $150 to $200. 10. What kind of software is required to operate this analyzer? Analyzer is controlled by special software included with each device and can easily be installed on any computer. Updates for specific application will be available at no charge. 11. How does one operate Alltesta Analyzer without the time-consuming sample preparation for melamine analysis in milk? Alltesta Analyzer utilizes a technique which allows to directly inject milk sample into the specially designed port. Dry milk samples need to be reconstituted in water to produce concentration typical of normal milk.

Is this an FDA approved method?
Method is validated according to FDA and ICH guidelines.  We are working with various government organizations to adopt our method. As of today the method is used in several companies worldwide, and by several of government labs in US.

What about sample matrix interference like the other HPLC methods?
Sample matrix interference for liquid samples is addressed by using trap column with a constant recovery wash during analysis. This method works for direct injection of such samples as whole milk for example without any sample preparations.

Is this a qualitative test or can it be quantitative?
The method can be used for quantitative and qualitative analysis. Calibration standards are provided with each “Supply Box”

Which detector are you using?
Melamine is monitored by UV detector at 254 nm. The detector is incorporated in Alltesta Analyzer. You can use your regular HPLC system and our HPLC columns for analysis of melamine, however the Alltesta Analyzer offers several benefits that are hard to achieve in a regular HPLC instrument:

  • Alltesta Analyzer provides very low injection carryover due to continuous needle wash during entire analytical run.
  • Direct injection of sample without sample cleanup and protein precipitation.
  • Long column life due to continuous guard column regeneration.
  • Simple setup and pre-made mobile phase and standard.
  • Low analysis cost
  • Self primed pump design

Can I use my HPLC system with your guard column and column for analysis?

HPLC column and guard column can be used with any HPLC system that has Switching Valve (Agilent 1100, Agilent 1200). Some HPLC system will require purchase of a 6-port dual-position Valco or Rheodyne high-pressure Switching Valve. Switching valve with trap column is used to trap proteins and fats when injecting complex matrices. Guard column is washed in opposite direction during the analysis.
