Hydrophilic basic compounds have no or very low interaction with the stationary phase by reverse mechanism. Instead, the positive charge of the molecule can be used as a means of retention in ion-exchange mode. Several Primesep columns offer cation-exchange capabilities. The degree of retention is increased in the line of the column from Primesep C to 200 to 100 and to Primesep A.
